THE FILM ART AWARDS HISTORY

The Film Art Awards (Originally called The Golden Europe Awards) are created by a small group of movie site owners in 2004, that grew large in time. Now there are nearly 80 members of our Critics Group from 12 different countries. Each one of us takes the time to watch all movies per year (or at least as much as we can) and to cast our vote on who is the best of the best.

The voting is simple. Around the end of the year we generate a long list of all categories – including Best Picture featuring 10 nominees, and when the long list is made, we send it to each of our members, and they vote in every category to determine the nominees.

The voting itself is: There might be a 15 movies in the long list for Cinematography. Each member has the total 12 points to give out. He/She has to vote for two with 3 points, for another two with 2 points, and for another two with 1 point. The 5 (or 6 in case of a tie) movies (or actors, directors) with the most points get our nomination.

When the nominees are reveled, it comes the time to vote the winners. The voting for the winners is the same as the one for the nominations. The only difference is that each member has 6 points (not 12) to give. Aka 3 points for your front runner, 2 points for the runner-up, and another 1 point for a third choice. When we count the points – the winners are reveled.

If you are interested in joining our small group, please, contact us. All that is needed from you is to work in the movie industry OR administrate or run a movie website, working for a newspaper (writing about movies or TV) etc.
